A new home for our used bookstore-café!
We are excited to have finalized our renovation and construction plans! Starting in August 2008, the Midtown Scholar Bookstore's browsing shop will be temporarily closed while we relocate two blocks south, in the heart of Midtown Harrisburg, directly across from the historic Broad Street Market. We will be renovating a classic 1950s department store, most recently Fissel's Antiques, as our new home. There will be space for over 100,000 books as well as the new Famous Reading Cafe, serving fine coffee, tea, sandwiches, and sweet treats.
